‘In the moment when you approach the mechanics, sure, it is not bad to be a designer. Indeed, it is essential to start from zero to learn a new language and to acquire a different way of thinking. We have to be humble, to be aware that we will never be at the same level with one who works with it every day. It is like playing an instrument. In order to play it all day long. I ‘play’ the lathe machine only half an hour a week; therefore I am an ordinary turner. I engage in it with creativity, with the boldness of a designer and this is the added value, next I compensate by involving the people that really know how to do the job'.
