BUS STOP

‘Confronted with the needs of a constantly growing city, Jaime Lerner, the architect who had become mayor of the town, invented the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) and perfected it over several decades: from the dedicated track, to the tube-like shelter, from the bi-articulated bus, which had been a cooperation between Curitiba and Volvo, to the way to align bus and tube station. The system of the BRT was invented for the body of the city of Curitiba. Jaime Lerner realized that public transportation always depends on space’.
